Painting final

1. My favorite project was my one flower of water  color . I like how it turned out with the colors in ye background and all in the center of the flower. The theme was making a flower that looked like a realistic flower in a picture I found. To start it off I just did just the solid shapes first then the
Filled in the colors. I tried to have the  big leaves and the small leaves proportional and also the center. I picked This flower because I like how it looked. The techniques I used for  the background was bleeding with greens yellows and brown. For the and for the part near the center of the blue I used tissue pickup. This is my favorite project because it turned out jut how I wanted it to.

2. I overcame the most obstacles with my color wheel as a palm tree. The biggest problem was getting the colors to shade and blend together. It was very hard to make sure there wasn't a definite line in between the different colors. Also making the leaves look even was difficult because there are so many ways they could go with drawing them. It was very hard to paint around the tree with the black because there were so many small spaces. That would have to be another difficult part. You also had to go over it about two times because it was transparent so that made it even harder. The mixing the colors wasn't that difficult but you didn't want to have an ugly color so sometimes the proportions of white and black were off with some of the colors. I feel like this project made me a better artist because it actually did teach me how to shade better. After having to do it 12 times I finally got it. It also helped me with being precise and making me stay out if the lines. It overall made me a better painter mostly.

3. The main piece that I know showed I grew as an artist was my ceiling tile. There were lots of things that went in to making it look good. For my tile I did and a beach scene with a nice sunset with a definite reflection on the ocean and 2 palm trees. This mainly showed my growth with shading my whole sky and ocean was shading. It was definitely better then the first time I shaded. I was very weary on how the ocean would look with the sky but after a while I could make it to were I did like how it turned out. I made it look like something I imagined and sometimes when you get really mad at something its hard to do that. I grew because I learned to accept my artwork and how it would turn out and not worry so much. As the final result I really do like how it turned out and im not made at any of the decisions I made even though I was at first.
Another piece that showed growth was my  texture project. I had to be very patient in making it because it was very detailed. Being patient is very key to being a good artist and this project specifically because there was lots of detail made me better at that. The texture was good and it showed you can make art using anything. It also helped me realize sometimes you make mistakes with your work and you cant change it but you also cant let it bug you. I really screwed up the background and didn't like it but oh well because I know in the end it only helped me and didn't hurt me.

4.This way of teaching was effective I think. I like how you were open to letting us doing more things to our liking. like I said before its easier to learn something when you enjoy it. For me an example would be how it was easier for me to do flowers for water color. I liked the idea of them so it was a lot easier to learn the technique of like spotting. I though it was cool and so I learned it faster. We could pretty much do anything with the water color and that was cool because it wasn't something specific so every ones was alike. It all showed some ones character and in what their interests are. Such as for me flowers or trees. Its just a better way to let the students build their character through their art work and I think that's what it did. It made everything unique and that in my opinion is the best artwork.
